Pollution and weathering effects on buildings over time. Those in areas of higher air pollution (e.g. along roads with high volumes of traffic, or around dirty industry) for prolonged periods would start to become discoloured and/or dirty. As buildings age they would also become discoloured. However, the frequency of these effects would be reduced on higher wealth buildings and increased on lower wealth buildings as the wealthier owners would be more likely to pay for building exterior cleaning, re-finishing, etc. A key feature. I’d love to have this!

*Tagged* ambient selection of music and *tagging* of custom music tracks which are added to the game's folder. The *tags* which are attached to music tracks which will trigger those tracks to play, based on the area the player is currently viewing which matches the *tag* (e.g. there can be tags for large parkland/forestry/green-space; agriculture; industry/powerhouse; high-tech industry; suburban (uptown); suburban (downtown/town centre); urban (uptown); urban (downtown/city centre); recreational/leisure/entertainment) and also the time of day in that area. A key feature. I’d love to have this!

Realistic city and other location sounds effects which are ambient, relevant, and preferably not overwhelming or repetitive. Sounds such as: road traffic, cyclists, trains, aeroplanes, ships, bustling pedestrian areas, recreation/leisure/entertainment areas, machinery, rushing river water, coastal waves/tides, domestic animals, wildlife. They should also be tied to whatever is in view at the time and its/their distance from the camera; e.g. if viewing a city from high above, there would be the sounds of wind with faint overall city sounds in the background; up-close to a busy road there would be mostly traffic noise; and in a quiet park you would hear birds and perhaps the occasional cyclist. A key feature. I’d love to have this!

More realistic construction, demolition/deconstruction, and realistic costs of both plopped and grown buildings. Construction of buildings and structures would take the same amount of in-game calendar time as it would in real-life time. Deconstruction methods would vary depending on the size and construction method of a building or structure. The process of construction could be shown at a small selection of different stages which it switches through over time (like SC2000 and SC3000) rather than rising slowly as a complete building from beneath the ground (like in SC4 which looks more like the reverse of controlled-demolition of towers). For players wanting instant gratification, the realistic construction/decosntruction timeframe can be switched off. A key feature. I’d love to have this!

Events and city life occurrences such as Christmas trees and lights appearing on and around buildings and public areas through December; public holidays with increased recreation usage and levels of tourism; street parades; street and public festivals/carnivals; business conventions/exhibitions; public protests; marathons and cycle races; filming and movie production; ice skating on frozen lakes in winter and sub-zero climates; busier beaches during hot weather; and more. Some of these events would not just be eye-candy but also temporarily affect your city's economy, conditions such as demand and desirability, and transport infrastructure depending on the event. A key feature. I’d love to have this!

Crimes occurring visually which could include: arson, bank robberies, burglaries, graffiti, organised crime, police chases on the roads or on foot, riots, street crime such as fighting and street robberies or drug-dealing, vandalism, and vehicle theft such as carjacking and breaking into parked cars to hotwire or steal any contents. The likelihood of these occurring should be based on factors to make it as realistic as possible. A key feature. I’d love to have this!

Minor accidents and incidents occurring visually which cause only a small amount of damage or negative effects and require no interaction from the player in order to control them. There should be an option to turn accidents/incidents off. Accidents and incidents could include: burst water mains, car crashes, building and bush/forest fires, and various hazardous weather conditions such as snow blizzards and lightning storms/strikes. The likelihood of these occurring should be based on factors to make it as realistic as possible. A key feature. I’d love to have this!

Disasters occurring visually and possibly as events which the player must take a hand in controlling or risk a sizeable amount of destruction in their city. There should be an option to turn disasters off. Disasters could include: train derailments/wrecks, disease epidemics, earthquakes, land/water contamination through toxic or oil spills on land/at sea, firestorms, flooding, heat waves and drought affecting water supplies, hurricanes, landslides, nuclear meltdowns and land contamination, tornadoes, and volcanic eruptions. The likelihood of these occurring should be based on factors to make it as realistic as possible. A key feature. I’d love to have this!

An eyedropper tool which can be used on any of our creations (such as buildings and structures, transport networks, ground textures, and ploppable props) which will automatically change the player's selected placement tool to match the item/configuration clicked with the eyedropper. A key feature. I’d love to have this!

Draggable hedges, fences, walls, and railings in different styles. They can be drawn in straight lines or curves by clicking-and-dragging in the same fashion as transport networks. We can use them to add aesthetics to different city features by being used as dividers and for other customisation. A key feature. I’d love to have this!

Customising graphics effects and settings in the game, including exterior night-lighting customisation for buildings (particularly skyscrapers), and options to adjust appearances of the day/night cycle and its colour palette, time of day, weather (such as cloud level, rain level, snow) and seasonal effects, pollution effects, traffic and pedestrian automata levels, etc. These effects would purely be for eye-candy and not affect your city. A key feature. I’d love to have this!

An option for the game to create a rendered screenshot of the player's current viewpoint which is saved to the hard drive. This would be a single high-resolution image of the city with the graphical effects, automata, and other settings at maximum quality/realism level; with the greatest amount of polygons used and the possibility of a high-detail view over a long distance in the city. Although the process may take a while on slower computers, it would be beneficial for players who cannot run the game on the highest graphics settings smoothly, to take pictures of there city as if it was run on a high-end computer without switching all of the graphics settings to be active in real-time while taking the screenshot capture / photo. A key feature. I’d love to have this!
