Multiplayer (online or LAN) option
where players can share a world, region, or city to play co-operatively or competitively. Player's cities could be automatically uploaded and downloaded using the online server when saved, or in real-time; so that all consenting players will be using the same world. Like SC4's CityScape but *automatic* and with each world shared between only consenting pre-acquainted players.

Improving regional integration
so that negative/positive effects will spill over municipal/city boundaries into neighbouring areas; some facilities would have regionwide or nationwide effects; residents can use facilities from neighbouring and other areas in the region or world, not just those where they live; and allowing us to "look over" the boundaries of the municipal/city we are working with to see what is directly adjoining in the area's neighbour.

Regional & Local Budgets
where some parts of a city's infrastructure are built and maintained using Regional Budgets, and some using Local. Features that affect an area larger than where they are built (e.g. Highway and Mass Transit networks, Transportation Facilties such as Airports and Seaports, major Civic facilities) should not always be paid for from the Local Budget. Why should a rural area fund an airport or highway route which is located there, but serves the nearby cities?

Fully customisable alignment grid
which can be moved, rotated, or have the size of grid tiles adjusted. Featuring "snap to grid" option. This grid would simply be an aid for the player to help with aligning features properly as we lay them out, and not a physical restriction like SC4's grid. We would still have free reigns for how we can lay out features (like in CityLife).

Particularly, the sizes of: airports, seaports & waterfront features, civic buildings & lots, low-density residential lots, commercial shopping malls/centres & lots, "green space" and recreational lots, utility buildings & lots, industrial buildings or structures & lots, industrial plants & lots, farming fields, train stations, bus stops, subway stations; the length of road lane "mergers"; and distances, e.g. commute times & acceptable work commutes; effect radius of civic buildings & other facilities; and the size of area benefiting or suffering the impact of other negative/positive effects.

to divide a region into the smaller areas which we can play with at one time - like a "city" in SC4,
settlement/neighbourhood borders
(marking out the boundaries of where our cities, towns and villages are located - and dividing them into neighbourhoods if we wish), and
landmark/feature boundaries
(such as parks, industrial estates, retail parks, road/highway interchanges or intersections, and other custom districts). Allowing us to name any of these areas we mark out in those three different ways; allowing us to change any of these boundaries over time and draw boundaries at any angle to create any polygon shape; and allowing us to view stats for any of the areas we have marked out. We would not be able to overlap the boundaries of the same type.
